Introduction and Design Features |
The
all new FHV has been designed to provide the very highest quality
of performance, manufactured from the highest quality materials,
in sufficient quantities to make this type of specification available
to the general engineering market. No longer is the Stainless Steel,
fully sealed product only available as a special order item.
The
FHV is designed in a modular format which allows the unit to be
offered as a single spindle CNC table, twin, treble, etc., or as
a modular tilting CNC table. This method allows for the volume manufacture
required to provide competitive pricing with conventional cast products.
The FHV can also be used in either the horizontal or vertical axis
depending on the application in hand.
The
FHV has high speed, high accuracy and extreme flexibility, together
with special sealing.

Some
of the FHV design features include: -
The
main rotary spindle is mounted in high accuracy bearings rated to
ABEC 7 ensuring the best in run-out characteristics. The front load
carrying bearing is situated directly behind the faceplate of the
FHV and is approximately 90% the size of the faceplate. This allows
the FHV to accommodate huge radial and axial forces that may be
experienced during operations.
The
clamping system is a full diameter hydraulic clamping ring providing
massive clamping forces directly to the main spindle, ensuring absolute
rigidity during component machining. Each block used in the modular
format, such as three in the tilting table model, have this clamping
system. This means complete precision in position and solid performance
under all machining conditions.

To
supply the FHV with hydraulic pressure a standard air / oil intensifier
is used. A standard factory pneumatic pressure of 6-7 bar is fead
into the unit and intensified to produce a hydraulic output pressure
of between 100 and 150 bar.
The
FHV is design to accept a variety of motor positions. The unit is
handed so to accept a motor from either the left or the right of
the unit. If space is a limited criteria the motor can be position
directly behind the table with the motor power being transmitted
through a backlash free belt drive.

FHV
Direct Axis Encoder
|
A specially
developed direct axis encoder is available as an option to provide
absolute precision better than 5 seconds of arc. This type of high
accuracy measurement is not generally available as standard on this
size of product.
A range
of accessories can be mounted to the nose including 3 or 4 jaw chuck,
various faceplate sizes and designs, automatic chucking systems
incorporating auto clamping cylinders to the rear. For a detailed
