Product Introduction and Design Features

The PHL is a horizontal CNC rotary product capable of traversing in a linear direction. This new product combines the latest design technology with the very latest features. The new PHL has increased in performance in order to keep up with demanding customers.

Other products of such enormity use a complicated system of hydrostatics to assist the rotary and the linear movement. This system overtime becomes less efficient and prone to problems. For product effectiveness and reliability the new PHL from Zeatz uses the latest rotary and linear bearing technology available.

The linear bearings are of a cross roller, super rigid construction. The combination of multiple rails and several heavy duty carriage units provide the tables with the large carrying capacities as specified below.

IKO needle roller linear roller bearings replace the older style hydrostatics, making the entire assembly a far more simple and effective product.

The large axial loadings are accomodated by large diameter four point contact bearings.  The main bearing is approximatly 80% of the faceplate size and therefore can adapt for large moment loads caused by offset loadings.

The rotary motion of the PHL is supported by 2 large diameter bearings in a back to back configuration. The wire race bearings are precision ground in order to give a run out accuracy of less than 20 microns. The main axial bearing is over-specified to provide a large safety factor within the entire product and to also account for any offset loading that may occur.

The worm wheel (directly mounted onto the bearing arrangement) is of a large toothed, dual lead type. This maximizes the performance efficiency of the worm and wheel while keeping backlash to a minimum.

The clamping of the rotary axis is provided by four independently linked clamping shoes directly clamping onto the circumference of the main rotary worm wheel. Each clamp can be individually controlled via an internally mounted manifold unit. The hydraulic supply (150 bar to all clamps) is supplied by a independent hydraulic power pack. This pack is mounted internally (underneath the telescopic covers) to avoid collisions and is designed with a clear refill tank, enabling easy leak detection and top-up.

The clamping pressure for the linear axis is also provided by the FP tank, built into the table such that the installer simply connects all services to the agreed termination point at one end of the product.

 

The entire hydraulics within the PHL are supplied by a single hydraulic power pack unit.  The innovative glass design allows easy detection of leaks.

The PHL is available with various faceplate configurations (e.g. round, square, rectangular, location spigot / recess) and is available with a hydraulic coupling for any fixtures mounted on top (to view more detail rgarding faceplate options please click here). The PHL is manufactured complete with levelling devices and electrical, hydraulic and air purge termination points creating "plug and play" technology.

Each axis can be fitted with a direct axis measurement system. Heidenhain, Renishaw or any other measurement device can be fitted. All motor types including Siemens, Fanuc and Yaskawa can be fitted to either axis.

The PHL is a totally self contained high load bearing, high speed unit. The standard unit alone is capable of undertaking various applications and for extra special applications modifications can be made with minimal extra cost.
